FSSAI is in the process of drafting a reward scheme for whistle blowers information
on cases of food adulteration. it is proposed to cover the following under the scheme:
- Information that will qualify for Rewards under the scheme
- The rewards under the scheme
- Persons who can furnish information under the scheme
- Mechanism for receiving the information under the scheme and further processing of information
- Disbursement of the reward
- Fund allotment, Monitoring and feedback
Draft Reward Scheme for Whistle Blowers for Information on Cases of Food Adulteration
and Unsafe Food has been prepared. In this Context, Suggestions are invited from
all stakeholders including public.

Draft Notification GSR No. 92(E) Dated 14.02.2011 Regarding Amendment to Prevention
of Food Adulteration Rules, 1955 Reg
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Health Government of India
has issued a draft notification amending standards of Prevention of Food Adulteration
Rules, 1955 with respect to addition of nutrition ingredients in various food products
and amending standards for infant foods, fortified atta and maida. This notification
has been published in part II, section 3, Sub-section(i) of Gazette of India(Extraordinary)
vide GSR No. 92(E) dated 14.02.2011.
A time period of sixty days have been given for sending objections/suggestions.
The notification is available on the website of Food Safety and Standards Authority
of India i.e. www.fssai.gov.in.
Objection/suggestion, if any on the draft rules , may be sent to secretary, Ministry
of Health & Family Welfare, Nirman Bhawan or the Assistant Director General(PFA),
Food Safety Standards Authority of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
Government of India, FDA Bhawan, Kotla Road, New Delhi-110002 within the stipulated
